Although Almeria is not the Mediterranean's hottest party town you can still find a good range of late night entertainment - from traditional Spanish fiestas to English-style "beer and bingo" bars. Get around to the various nightly entertainment with your own Almeria car hire.
Unlike the popular tourist resorts which only come to life in peak season, Almeria is not dominated by international tourism and you'll find live music at various venues throughout the year. In the town center you can choose from a couple dozen music bars and clubs. Two of the liveliest clubs are Discoal SL in Calle de las Tiendas and Discoteca Lord Nelson in Calle Canonigo Molina Alfonso.
Visit during the months of August for the best yearly fiesta. Enjoy a traditional Spanish knees-up at the Almeria Fair which takes place during the last two weeks of the month. The city streets become a riot of music, processions, dancing, parades, and of course traditional Spanish bull running. Huge marquees are erected in the fair ground and there's good-natured mayhem and merrymaking day and night.
Other important fiestas which take place in Almeria happen during Semana Santa, or Holy Week. These feature elaborate Moors and Christian parades. For more touristy entertainment visit the beachfront at night for bingo, karaoke, cabaret shows and late night clubs.
